What Our Patients Are Saying

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

A wound care specialist provides advanced, evidence-based treatment for acute and chronic wounds that resist standard healing. At AllHealth DTC, their role involves comprehensive assessments, infection control, debridement, and the use of advanced dressing techniques to accelerate recovery and prevent serious complications like scarring or amputation.

You should see a specialist if you have a wound that won’t heal after two weeks, or if you notice signs of infection such as increased redness, swelling, foul odor, or heat. Patients with diabetes, poor circulation, or pressure ulcers (bed sores) should seek expert care immediately to manage risks and promote proper healing.

Chronic wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers and venous or pressure ulcers, are often the hardest to heal because they are frequently complicated by poor circulation or nerve damage. Our multidisciplinary team coordinates with vascular specialists and endocrinologists to address these underlying causes and support faster recovery.

The five cardinal signs of wound infection are: 1) persistent or increasing pain, 2) swelling and redness around the site, 3) localized heat or warmth, 4) unusual or foul-smelling discharge (pus), and 5) delayed healing or a wound that appears to be getting worse instead of better.

Proper nutrition is a core part of our coordinated care approach. Foods rich in protein (like eggs and lean meats), Vitamin C (citrus fruits), and Zinc are essential for skin repair and collagen production. Our clinicians emphasize nutritional support alongside medical treatments to achieve the best long-term results.
